Location: Bentonville, AR

 Position Summary

 The Lead Surveyor will work closely with the surveyor Manager to assist in conducting land surveys, boundary determinations, and topographic mapping. They will be responsible for determining the precise location of utilities, roads or buildings, and proper depths for home foundations. The Lead Survey will oversee one surveying assistant. 

Essential Duties and Responsibilities

• Collaborate with survey manager to ensure the quality and accuracy of survey work, verifying that it aligns with project specifications and industry standards.
• Measure distances and angles between points on, above, and below the Earth’s surface.
• Travel to locations and use known reference points to determine the exact location of important features.
• Look for evidence of previous boundaries to determine where boundary lines are located.
• Assist in preparing survey reports, drawings, and documentation that meet industry standards and client requirements.
• Maintain and calibrate surveying instruments and equipment to ensure their accuracy and reliability in the field.

Qualifications and Skills

• High school diploma or GED required.
• Minimum of 1 year experience in surveying.
• Ability to use a variety of measuring equipment and GPS devices.
• Use of geographic information systems and data.
• Excellent interpersonal and time management skills.
• Valid driver’s license and clean driving record.
• Must be at least 21 years of age to drive a company vehicle.
• OSHA training required within six (6) months of hire.

Work Environment and Physical Requirements

• Works outdoors in a non-temperature-controlled environment, with medium to high noise levels.
• Prolonged periods of walking and standing required
• Frequently required to sit, lift, pull, and push objects weighing up to 100 pounds
• Frequently required to work in cramped or confined workspaces.

The employee must frequently lift or move 10 pounds and occasionally lift or move up to 100 pounds. Specific vision abilities required by this job include close vision, distance vision, color vision, peripheral vision, depth perception and the ability to adjust focus. 

Position Type/Expected Hours of Work 

This is a full-time position (45-50 hours weekly). Standard days and hours of work are Monday through Friday, 7:00 a.m. to 5:00 p.m. Days and hours may vary, including occasional travel or work on weekends. 

Travel 

Local travel to various worksites is required. Must have a valid and active driver’s license. All applicants will have their driving record inspected, for insurance purposes, before hiring.

Salary Range and Benefits

$25+/ hour, paid weekly. Based on experience.
